Sangiran Goes To School to Accommodate History Lesson History Learning through Sangiran Entering School Program

Abstract

Sangiran Goes to School program is part of ways to spread information and to educate young
generation with about cultural heritage especially Sangiran Site. This is also a kind of joint action between BPSMP Sangiran and schools. Teaching methods applied in such a program are in the forms of explanation in class, discussion, mini exhibition, movie and quizes. The materials given to the students are based on K13 curriculum which were developed into some topics. In 2019, the program was targeted to 4 schools in DIY and Central Java. The schools were selected based on the visitor’s data of Sangiran Early Man Museum, the requirements of school education services, and based on coordinations between with Provincial Education Office and schools. The school selection for the program is based the fact that the materials for preletter and prehistory are too many to be presented in class room only.
