A Study Of Character Education Values In Kadeso Tradition Practiced By People Of Kemiri Temanggung

Abstract

The young generation of Indonesia is now experiencing a moral crisis. Such a crisis can be
controlled by optimizing the character education as this kind of is an effort to build the nation character. Learning resources for character education are cultures and traditions including Kadeso, a tradition practiced by people of Kemiri Temanggung. The purpose of this research is to study the values of character education in Kadeso tradition. Data in the form of information and facts about Kadeso were collected by in-depth interviewing, observating, document collecting, and library studying. The results of this research show that the values of character education in Kadeso tradition represent the characters of religious, tolerant, discipline, hard work, friendly, and socially as well as environmentally caring. The values can be referents for educators in developing the character education materials for young generation.
